Erzsébet Seleljo

Erzsébet Seleljo studied saxophone with Kyle Horch at the Royal College of Music in London and with Lars Mlekusch at the Konservatorium Wien Privatuniversität, she completed her doctoral studies at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. Erzsébet has won several national and foreign competitions, and received scholarships such as Liszt Academy Network and KLASSZ. During her studies she participated in masterclasses led by Claude Delangle, Arno Bornkamp, Nobuya Sugawa and many other world renowned saxophonists.

As a soloist Erzsébet performed saxophone concertos with the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra, Budapest Strings, Liszt Academy Symphony Orchestra, Győr Symphonic Band and Alpen Classica Orchestra. She is often involved in contemporary projects, she has worked with Slovakian Quasars Ensemble and with UMZE, the Hungarian contemporary ensemble. She has also taken part in international chamber music festivals such as Vibrate! Festival in Brasov (Romania), Opus Amadeus Festival in Istambul (Turkey), or Academic Chamber Music Festival in St Petersburg (Russia). She frequently plays with her pianist sister Irén, is a member of saxophone-harp duo called Duo SeRa and collaborates with other instrumentalists as well. Besides performing original repertoire, Erzsébet is committed to premiering new works and promoting Hungarian music. She currently teaches saxophone at the Bartók Béla Secondary High School of Music and at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. Erzsébet Seleljo is a Henri Selmer-Artist.
