Vincent David

Vincent David – winner of the Interpretation Prize of the Simone and Cino Del Duca Foundation – Institut de France, awarded by the Académie des Beaux-Arts, and winner of the Grand Prix Lycéens des Compositeurs Award in 2021 – is an essential personality of the current music landscape.

As a composer, he stands out with his piece Artefact written in 2022 for the Ensemble Intercontemporain. Published by Billaudot, David’s catalog includes orchestra pieces (Le pur et l’impur, Artefact, Reflets, Arches), ensemble pieces (Esquisses, Linéal, Rhizome for saxophone and strings commissioned by the Tana Arborescence Quartet for Ars Musica 2024, Elementum commissioned by the Habanera Quartet, Strates Trio for violin, saxophone and piano), solo pieces for clarinet and flute (Lune for clarinet and Flots for flute), pieces for solo saxophone and pieces for saxophone and piano (Pulse, Refraction, Sillage, Échos éclatés, etc.).

He has been playing with the Ensemble Intercontemporain for over 25 years, and has collaborated with numerous composers such as Georges Aperghis, Pierre Boulez, Luciano Berio, Laurent Cuniot, Thierry Escaich, Gérard Grisey, Philippe Hurel, Michael Jarrell, Philippe Leroux, Mauro Lanza, Farnaz Modarresifar, Bruno Mantovani, Martin Matalon, Olga Neuwirth, Yann Robin, Giorgia Spiropoulos, Claire-Mélanie Sinnhuber, Diana Soh-Hudry, Nina Šenk, etc.
